Brief Biography:
Dr. Ghazali is currently working as the director of the Houston Quran Academy. He is also a consultant for several Islamic schools. He also works as an adjunct professor with the Islamic American University and serves as the chairman of MAS Council of Islamic Schools (MASCIS). He has published several papers and articles on Islamic education. Dr. Ghazali is an expert on school accreditation. He has helped several Islamic schools get accredited. Dr. Ghazali is one of the pioneers on Islamic Education and Tarbiyah in the United States. Dr. Ghazali has memorized the entire Quran and did extensive research on it and is in the process of publishing this research. He served as the principal of the Islamic School of Greater Kansas City for ten years, along with serving as an Imam in Kansas and Missouri for 20 years. He also served as the superintendent of several Islamic schools in Texas, Oklahoma, and New York. Dr. Ghazali was elected and served as the vice president of the Islamic Society of North America for several years.

 

Dr. Ghazali has been working to build bridges between the Muslim community and other communities. He helped with the Community-Oriented Policing Services of the Department of Justice (COPS) office in Washington, D.C. to open communication channels and bridges between the Muslim Community and other organizations and made several presentations at national conventions such as the National Community Policing Annual Conference and the Chief of Police Association Annual Conferences. He served as a member of the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) of Kansas City, helping with research on developing better communication between the police and the community. He also served as a member of the advisory board of the Faith And Services Technical Educational Network (FATSTEN) of the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC). He also served as a visiting Imam of the Federal Prison in Leavenworth, Kansas for 6 years.

 

Dr. Ghazali has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Egypt, a Master’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Kansas, and a Ph.D. degree in Education from Kansas State University.
